General Description
Principle Power O&M Team provides operations, maintenance, inspection, and repair services for floating wind projects. It also supports the installation and commissioning of new-built wind farms using the WindFloat technology.
We are expanding the team to support multiple contracted offshore wind projects in several geographies that will be installed over the coming years.
We are currently seeking an IMR Technician for a unique and innovative offshore wind project, WindFloat Atlantic Offshore Wind Farm, installed and commissioned offshore of Viana do Castelo in Portugal. This position will report to the Operation and Maintenance Team Leader based in Viana do Castelo.
Main Accountabilities
- Perform service operations on site including inspection, maintenance, repair and replacement of platform components
- Ensure preparedness for offshore operations (spare parts, testing of tools and equipment)
- Monitor and track component health through condition monitoring, remote diagnostics, and onsite inspection
- Coordinate works to be performed with client, other contractors and subcontractor; participate in operational meetings, safety briefings.
- Participation in recurrent work-related training; train and monitor clients and contractors (operations, HSE procedures)
- Support project in other locations when needed, including planning, refinement of procedures, and on-site operations, namely abroad.
- Promote applicable Principle Power’s, Project’s, and Industry’s QHSE practices and regulations.
- Project’s Planning of activities (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair) considering technology’s maintenance plan and minimization of downtime.
- Define methods statements for the activities to be performed and conduct onsite risk assessments with the Project’s team prior to operations.
- Cooperate closely with Customer’s technician to operate in an integrated team
- Support procurement process, logistics, storage, and dispatch
- Internal and external reporting of activities
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve procedures for routine and corrective operations
- Support other wind farm projects under construction as required
- Contribute to the broader organizational development of Principle Power’s O&M Business.
Skills & Competencies
- 5+ years of professional experience in the offshore Operation &Maintenance /Installation field for either wind energy or oil and gas projects, alternative experience in Industrial Services or Shipping.
- Hands-on knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems;
- Comfortable working offshore, in confined spaces and at heights, coping with the respective challenges of these environments;
- Experience with Rope access techniques, works in confined spaces
- Knowledge of structural inspections
- Commitment to quality safety and risk management, including planning, safety awareness, tracking, and continuous improvement;
- Experience working with multicultural, international, and multifunctional Teams, located in different time zones;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
- Certification for offshore works in accordance with GWO BST;
- Strong organizational and reporting skills to effectively plan and report inspection and maintenance activities
- Knowledge of safety management systems and safety awareness.
- Familiarity with SCADA and remote diagnostic techniques.
- Excellent mandate on spoken and written English
